Bourbon Sauce

This can be used as a sauce for chicken, beef or pork.

Bourbon Sauce

1/4 t minced garlic
1/4 t ginger
1/2 t crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 cup apple juice
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 T ketchup
1 T cider vinegar
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup soy sauce

Put all ingredients in a sauce pan, heat over medium heat until well blended. Add meat cut into bite size pieces to sauce. Bring to hard boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.

  1. This was a real hit with Mr. H and I, and the son who tasted it demanded the recipe! It's a keeper, that's for sure. I browned chicken strips, then poured the sauce on and cooked it until the chicken was done and the sauce syrupy.
